The Marine Toys for Tots Foundation
The Marine Toys for Tots Foundation is a not for profit organization authorized by the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve to provide fundraising and other necessary support for their annual Toys for Tots Program. Now in its 61st year, Toys for Tots provides hope and happiness to economically disadvantaged children through the gift of a shiny new toy during the Christmas holiday season. Our gifts offer these children recognition, confidence and a positive memory they will cherish for a lifetime. Many of the gifts we provide, such as books, games and sports equipment, make a significant contribution to the educational, social and recreational interests of these children. In 2007, Marines distributed gifts to 7.5 million children in over 600 communities nationwide. The Charles River Conservancy
The Charles River Conservancy is a public interest organization founded in 2000 and dedicated to the stewardship and renewal of the Charles River Parklands from Boston Harbor to the Watertown Dam. While advocacy for and education about the parklands are the high priorities, physical improvements and events also form part of the Conservancy's efforts. The Conservancy's other programs include bringing some 2500 volunteers to the parklands every year, improving the pathways, working on the return of swimming, illuminating the bridges, and building a skatepark. Community Servings
Community Servings is dedicated to providing free home-delivered meals throughout Eastern Massachusetts to people homebound with HIV/AIDS and other acute life-threatening illnesses, who are unable to shop or cook for themselves. We provide our clients, their dependent families, and caregivers appealing, nutritious meals, reaching out to those in greatest need. Our goals are to help our clients maintain their health and dignity, preserve the integrity of their families, provide nutritionally and culturally appropriate meals, and send the message that someone cares. Boston Cares
Boston Cares mobilizes 20,000 volunteers annually in support of Greater Boston schools and non-profit agencies. Our signature Calendar Program features 150 projects each month through which members volunteer at a variety of projects. Additional programs include BOOYAH! (Boston Young Active Hands), Citizen Academy, Corporate Volunteering, and the Campus Initiative. The Lexington Conservation Stewards is a volunteer organization that works with the Town of Lexington Conservation Commission and Conservation Department to care for town conservation land. RFK Children's Action Corps was founded in 1969 as an active memorial to the late Senator Robert F. Kennedy, who believed that society has a responsibility to take care of its most helpless members. Our programs are focused on helping children and adolescents with significant emotional and behavioral problems deal appropriately with past hurts, develop self-esteem, and become contributing members of society.
