Inkjet vs digital heat transfer T-shirt printing technologies

What it is:

Dyes and pigments are absorbed into T-shirt fabric.

 Pros:

  • Our best overall T-shirt value.
  • Great option for large logos or photos on the front or back of a shirt.
  • A solid way to maximize your budget for large orders, promotional events or celebrations.

Cons:

  • Printing vibrancy begins to fade after repeated washes – on average about 10 washes.

What it is:

A digitally printed image is transferred onto T-shirt fabric via heat press.

 Pros:

  • Vibrant color printing.
  • Our most durable printing technology, averaging about 15 washes before signs of wear.
  • Large assortment of T-shirt colors, styles and fabrics to choose from.

Cons:

  • We strongly recommend limiting digital heat transfer to smaller logos and airy, text-based designs. Larger logos or solid designs are less flexible, and can feel less comfortable to wear.
