We want you to feel awesome about your artwork, so we’ve rounded up our top pointers for designing a framed photo print you’ll be excited to show off.
Use high-res images: Upload high-resolution photos for your framed print (we recommend images with at least 300 dpi). This will give you the sharpest prints possible.
Avoid white margins: To prevent margins in your framed picture, be sure to match the shape of your photo to the orientation of the print.
Pick the right frame: When choosing a frame, consider whether its color and overall look complements your image and the space it will hang. If you’re unsure which frame to try, check out our suggestions below!
Make it personal: Adding a name, date or monogram to your print makes it feel truly one of a kind. We offer dozens of templates that allow you to put your personal touch on your image.
Add a mat: Accenting your print with a mat is an easy way to make it feel elevated (please note that mats are not available for all frames).
Each of our framed photo prints is carefully constructed as a cohesive, all-in-one piece, with backing that’s specifically fitted to the frame. As a result, we do not recommend replacing the photo – removing the backing may damage the frame or print.
Our prints are featured on high-quality matte paper for a classic look. The frame is made of medium density fiberboard and comes with an acrylic cover to keep your image in place.
Choosing the right frame for your framed photo print has a lot to do with personal preference and style. To help you decide, we’ve rounded up a few suggestions for our different frame colors.
- White: An all-around great option for a variety of spaces, especially if you prefer a modern look. Recommended for minimalist prints, light-toned photos and black and white images.
- Black: A versatile pick for contemporary and traditional spaces alike, we suggest this option for images with high contrast as well as black and white photos.
- Walnut: With its warm feel, walnut looks great in traditional rooms full of rich textures and colors. Pair it with nature photography, warm-toned pictures and vintage-inspired art.
All of our frames, black, white and walnut, are 1.5" wide.
Your framed prints will arrive with a built-in hanger at the back for easy installation. Follow the directions below to get your print hung in no time:
How to hang your print:
- Make sure your print is level
- Mark your wall where you’d like to hang your print
- Hammer a nail into your wall marking
- Hang the back of your print onto the nail
We recommend uploading high-resolution photos for your framed print. High-res photos will give you the sharpest prints possible. Also, don’t forget to match the shape of your upload to the orientation of the print – doing so helps you avoid any white margins.
We don't offer a physical mat, but you can achieve the look of one by choosing to print your photo with a white border. This gives your print a clean, mat-like finish without the need for a separate mat layer.
Note: Adding a printed border will slightly reduce the size of the actual photo image. See below for details.
