Never underestimate the statement-making power of a pocket-sized marketing essential. Michael and Alexandra Scholtz learned when they co-founded Los Angeles floral design and landscape studio, WildFlora, that they needed great business cards to make a big first impression with their brand. But they also discovered that there are a million (and one!) things you can do with them.
Now they also use business cards to print extra details about their products and services, like the handy explainers they give away with the crystals they sell. “Using them for extra information is really helpful for our customers,” says Alexandra.
Not bad for a classic!
“You can take a business card and make it anything.”— Alexandra, WildFlora
When you’ve worked hard to bring your business to life, you and your team have absolutely gotta show it off. Maria Colalancia, who’s always up for a fun ‘fit, designed these simple but stylish T-shirts for her Boston supper club and store, which celebrates all things gathering and gifting.
At Aperitivo the Shop, Maria sells dinnerware and housewarming gifts inspired by her Italian-American heritage and her passion for reviving the semi-lost art of the dinner party. T-shirts are budget-friendly but essential items for her brand, because she can use them to outfit her team or sell to customers.
They make great gifts, too!
YouTuber and scrunchie-making sensation Taylah Rose started her business when she was just 15. And she’s learned so much in the 10 years since: How to hand-sew thousands of scrunchies, for example, and how the loud whir of an industrial sewing machine can actually hurt your hearing (keep those headphones on!).
Taylah has also discovered how giveaway products can help her connect with customers. She especially loves her scrunchie-shaped stickers, which she hands out at craft markets and drops in her packaging. Stickers may be small, but they’re fun, shareable and stick to any surface, which means customers can rep your brand for you on their laptops, phone cases and water bottles. Nice!
“I started off with business cards, but I’ve evolved into so many different branding items that I use for packaging, markets and just everything.”— Taylah, Made by Taylah Rose
