Postcard size business cards

I've ordered twice from Vistaprint. The first order turned out fine. The second order was disappointing, as the photo on the card was very dark compared to the design I submitted. I notified them and they sent me another batch at no charge. . These ones are also darker than expected. I'm using them at this point, but as an artist, I really needed a better representation of my work. I'm surprised because I had a good experience initially. The fact that they sent another set at no charge was great. . and the representative was very helpful and nice. But the actual item(s) weren't very good. Considering if I should go with them again.

We are glad to hear that the first batch of cards turned out fine and that our Care Specialist was helpful and nice in assisting you with the reorder. We always strive to make things right, and we appreciate your acknowledgment that the replacement batch was sent at no charge. We sincerely apologize that the photos on both the initial second order and the replacement batch came out very dark and did not provide a better representation of your artwork. The issue you're seeing is often related to the difference between screen colors and printed colors. Monitor, phone, and most digital design programs use the RGB (Red, Green, Blue) color model, which uses light to create colors that often look bright and vibrant. All professional printing, including ours, uses the CMYK (Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, Black) color model, which uses ink. CMYK colors are inherently less bright than RGB colors, and any dark areas in an RGB file can look significantly darker and muted when converted to CMYK for printing. To help us investigate why the replacement batch was also dark and ensure we resolve this issue completely, could you please share images of both the original (dark) batch and the replacement batch? We truly value your business and hope to restore your confidence in our printing quality.

Yes. If you have a postcard design file that's ready to go, you’ll be able to upload it directly to our studio. You’ll choose a postcard orientation, size and quantity. Just make sure your postcard upload has an image resolution of at least 300 dots per inch (DPI) and is saved in one of the following formats: .jpg, .jpeg, .jfif, .bmp, .png, .gif, .heic, .svg, .pdf, .psd,.ai, .eps, .ait, .ppt, .pptx, .tif, .tiff

Yes – here are a few things to keep in mind as you design postcards.

Keep your design simple. Always remember that postcards are small, so a lot of complicated information can overwhelm its recipient. Identify the top few things you want a customer to know, and then focus on those points. Including a strong call to action – a website URL, phone number or address – gives people a way to learn more once they’ve become interested in what you have to say.

Stand out with photography or a logo. Odds are good that your business postcards will be competing for attention with other promotional pieces – in a letterbox, on a notice board or even in your business. Bold colours, a high-quality image or your logo can help your postcard get noticed.

Most of our standard postcard options are compatible with direct mail. Because of the printing and addressing process, we can’t offer Mailing Services for rounded corner postcards or postcards with special foil or gloss finishes. Postcard mailing services and EDDM (Every Door Direct Mail®) postcards are both low-cost ways to send postcards to numerous households. The difference lies in how they’re distributed:

For postcard mailing services, you can either upload an address list or purchase one from us. We’ll print, address and mail your postcards directly to recipients.

For EDDM® postcards, you don't need a mailing list. Instead, you can target every household within a specific ZIP code through the United States Postal Service. We’ll print and address your USPS-compliant postcards, then send them to you ready for drop off at the post office.
