Since these stamps are designed for high precision, "too much ink" can often be managed with a few simple adjustments:
Lighten the Pressure: Pre-inked stamps require a very soft, even touch. Pressing too firmly can cause the internal reservoir to release excess ink, which may fill in the finer details of your logo.
"Prime" the Stamp: If the stamp is brand new, try stamping several times on a scrap piece of paper to help the ink flow stabilize.
Surface Check: Ensure you are using the stamp on a flat, absorbent paper surface, as glossy materials can cause the ink to pool or smudge.

The self-inkers transfer ink from an inner pad and pre-inked stamps have an ink cell and impression pad built in.
To re-ink the stamp, follow these instructions:
- To re-ink your Vistaprint stamp, begin by holding the stamp base with one hand, and pulling the handle off the to reveal two round inking tubes.
- Carefully place a few drops of ink into each inking port, and then with a gentle downward motion, reattach the handle to the stamp base.
- Let your Vistaprint stamp sit overnight, allowing the fresh ink to fully saturate the internal cartridge. Test the stamp and repeat steps if necessary.

The ink used in our stamp is water/glycol-based and is recommended to be used on paper for best results. It is not recommended on fabric, plastic or any outdoor surfaces.
