That is not the experience we want for you, and we appreciate you bringing it to our attention. Pre-inked stamps can sometimes release excess ink if too much pressure is applied or if they have built up ink during production or shipping. We recommend stamping gently using light, even pressure, as these types of stamps require far less force than traditional or self-inking styles. It may also help to test the stamp on scrap paper a few times to draw out any extra ink. If the issue persists after trying these steps, we are here to assist further and discuss replacement options. The self-inkers transfer ink from an inner pad and pre-inked stamps have an ink cell and impression pad built in.
To re-ink the stamp, follow these instructions:
- To re-ink your Vistaprint stamp, begin by holding the stamp base with one hand, and pulling the handle off the to reveal two round inking tubes.
- Carefully place a few drops of ink into each inking port, and then with a gentle downward motion, reattach the handle to the stamp base.
- Let your Vistaprint stamp sit overnight, allowing the fresh ink to fully saturate the internal cartridge. Test the stamp and repeat steps if necessary.
