VistaPrint AI Connector

Availability: The VistaPrint AI Connector is currently available in Gemini for personal Google accounts in the United States. It is not yet available in ChatGPT or Claude. The instructions for those assistants apply once VistaPrint becomes available there.

The VistaPrint AI Connector lets you explore VistaPrint products and create personalized designs in supported AI assistants.

Instead of browsing the VistaPrint website, describe what you want in a conversation. For example, ask Gemini to show you business cards, find design templates, or help you customize a product.

What can you do with the VistaPrint AI Connector?

With the VistaPrint AI Connector, your AI assistant can work with the VistaPrint catalog and your VistaPrint account. You describe what you want. The assistant finds products, builds a design, and adds it to your cart.

You can:

  • Find products. Search the VistaPrint catalog for products such as business cards, flyers, mugs, or T-shirts. Compare a short list of products and choose one.
  • Choose options and see prices. Pick product options such as size, paper, or quantity. See the price for each quantity before you decide.
  • Start from a template. Browse ready-made templates for a product. Filter them by style, industry, or occasion.
  • Use your own images. Add artwork from a public image link (not yet available in Gemini). In ChatGPT, you can also attach a file in the chat. Remove the background from an image.
  • Edit your design. Change the text, images, layout, and styles in the conversation.
  • Preview your design. See a preview of each printable side. Where available, see an interactive 3D preview.
  • Reuse saved designs. Find the design projects saved in your VistaPrint account, then edit or reorder them.
  • Add to your cart. Add the finished design to your VistaPrint cart. The assistant gives you a link to finalize your order on VistaPrint.

You cannot place an order or pay in the chat. To complete your purchase, open the cart link on VistaPrint and check out there.

Before you start

Before you connect, make sure that you have the following:

  • An account with your AI assistant. For now, sign in to Gemini. A free plan is enough.
  • A VistaPrint account. If you do not have one, you can sign up when the assistant asks you to link your VistaPrint account during setup.

Gemini limits. Right now, the VistaPrint AI Connector in Gemini has these limits:

  • It is available in the United States only.
  • It works with personal Google accounts only. Work Google accounts are not supported yet. This can change in the future.

Connect VistaPrint to your AI assistant

The steps depend on your AI assistant. The steps below use the website of each assistant.

Choose your assistant:

Gemini

Gemini has limits. You need a personal Google account, and you must be in the United States. See Before you start.

Connect

  1. Open Gemini in your web browser and sign in with your personal Google account.
  2. Go to Personal Intelligence > Connected apps.
  3. Find VistaPrint. Use one of these ways:
    • Enter "VistaPrint" in the search box.
    • Browse the Connectors page to find VistaPrint.
  4. Select the + button to install VistaPrint.
  1. After you select +, Gemini shows Connect VistaPrint. Select Connect.
  2. A window asks you to link your Google account and your VistaPrint account. Select Agree and continue.
  3. Sign in with your VistaPrint account. If you do not have an account, sign up.
  4. After you sign in, your browser goes back to Gemini.

Start using VistaPrint

  1. In the chat box, type @VistaPrint.
  2. Type your prompt after it. For example: @VistaPrint show me business cards that I can customize for my bakery.

Disconnect

  1. Select the Settings icon.
  2. Go to Personal Intelligence > Connected apps.
  3. In the Active section, find the VistaPrint connector.
  4. Select the ... menu next to the connector name.
  5. Select Disconnect.

The menu also has the option Unlink from Google Account. Both options disconnect the VistaPrint connector.

ChatGPT

Not yet available in ChatGPT. You cannot find VistaPrint in ChatGPT's Plugins page yet. Use the steps below once VistaPrint becomes available.

Connect

  1. Open ChatGPT in your web browser and sign in.
  2. In the side panel, select Plugins.
  3. Find VistaPrint. Use one of these ways:
    • Enter "VistaPrint" in the Search plugins box.
    • Browse the Plugins page to find VistaPrint.
  4. Select the + button next to the VistaPrint plugin name.
  1. After you select +, ChatGPT asks you to sign in or sign up for VistaPrint.
  2. Sign in with your VistaPrint account. If you do not have an account, sign up.
  3. After you sign in, your browser goes back to ChatGPT.

Start using VistaPrint

  1. In the chat box, type @VistaPrint.
  2. Type your prompt after it. For example: @VistaPrint show me business cards that I can customize for my bakery.

Disconnect

You can disconnect your VistaPrint account, or you can uninstall the VistaPrint plugin.

Disconnect your VistaPrint account from ChatGPT

  1. Go to Plugins.
  2. In the Installed section, select the VistaPrint plugin.
  3. Select Manage.
  4. In the Connected accounts section, select the ... menu.
  5. Select Disconnect.

Uninstall the VistaPrint plugin

  1. Go to Plugins.
  2. In the Installed section, select the VistaPrint plugin.
  3. Select Uninstall.

If you uninstall the plugin, you must install it again and link your VistaPrint account again before you can use it.

Claude

Not yet available in Claude. You cannot find VistaPrint in Claude's connector directory yet. Use the steps below once VistaPrint becomes available.

Connect

  1. Open Claude in your web browser and sign in.
  2. Go to Settings > Connectors.
  3. Find VistaPrint. Use one of these ways:
    • Enter "VistaPrint" in the search box.
    • Select the Discover tab and browse to find VistaPrint.
  4. Select the + button to connect VistaPrint to Claude.
  1. When Claude asks for access to your VistaPrint account, select Allow.
  2. Sign in with your VistaPrint account. If you do not have an account, sign up.
  3. After you sign in, your browser goes back to Claude.

Start using VistaPrint

  1. In the chat box, select the + button at the bottom left.
  2. Select Connectors.
  3. Make sure that the toggle next to VistaPrint is on. The toggle is on by default after you connect.
  4. Type your prompt. For example: Show me business cards that I can customize for my bakery.

Disconnect

You can turn off VistaPrint for one chat, or you can disconnect it from your account.

Turn off VistaPrint for the current chat

  1. In the chat box, select the + button at the bottom left.
  2. Select Connectors.
  3. Turn off the toggle next to VistaPrint.

VistaPrint stays connected to your account. You can turn the toggle on again at any time.

Disconnect VistaPrint from your account

  1. Go to Settings > Connectors.
  2. Select the Yours tab.
  3. Select VistaPrint.
  4. Select Disconnect.

Example prompts

Try these prompts to get started in Gemini. Start each prompt with @VistaPrint. Once VistaPrint becomes available in ChatGPT, start each prompt there with @VistaPrint too.

  • Find a product. "Show me business cards from VistaPrint and help me choose one for my bakery."
  • Compare prices. "How much do 100, 250, and 500 flyers cost at VistaPrint?"
  • Start from a template. "Find a modern, minimal business card template from VistaPrint for a photographer."
  • Edit a design. "Change the name on my design to Maria Lopez and make the title text bigger."
  • See a preview. "Show me a preview of my design."
  • Reuse a saved design. "Show my saved projects on VistaPrint and help me reorder the latest one."
  • Add to cart. "Add my design to my VistaPrint cart."

Tools overview

The VistaPrint AI Connector gives your AI assistant a set of tools. You do not need to choose a tool. The assistant picks the right one when you describe what you want. Your assistant can show the tool names while it works. In these names, "document" means your design, and "asset" means an image.

Find products

Tool What it does
Search Products Finds VistaPrint products from a word or phrase, such as "mugs".
Request Product Selection Shows a short list of products and asks you to choose one.
Product Details Shows the options for a product, such as size, paper, and quantity.

Choose options and see prices

Tool What it does
Refine Product Selections Narrows down your options and shows the price in the same step.
Configure Product Goes through the options step by step until your product is fully set.
Get Price Shows the price of your product for the options and quantities that you choose.

Create and edit your design

Tool What it does
Search Templates Finds ready-made designs for a product. You can search by style, industry, or occasion. Some products have no templates.
Create Document Starts a new design. You can start from a template or from a blank design.
Edit Document Changes the text, images, layout, and style of your design.
Get Document Shows the current version of your design.
Render Preview Shows a preview of each printable side of your design. Where available, it also shows a 3D preview.

Use your own images

Tool What it does
Upload Asset Adds your image to your design from a public image link. In ChatGPT, you can also attach a file. Not available in Gemini yet.
Search Assets Finds images that you uploaded before, so that you can use them again.
Remove Asset Background Makes a copy of your image with a transparent background.

Saved designs and cart

Tool What it does
List Projects Shows the designs saved in your VistaPrint account, newest first. Use them to edit or reorder.
Add to Cart Adds your finished design to your VistaPrint cart. The assistant gives you a link to continue.

Differences between assistants

The ChatGPT and Claude columns describe planned features. These connectors are not yet available.

Typical workflow

Most orders follow these steps. You can go back to an earlier step at any time. You can also start from a design that you saved before.

  1. Ask for a product. Tell your assistant what you want, such as business cards or mugs.
  2. Choose a product and options. Your assistant shows the products that fit. Pick one. Then pick product options such as size and paper. Your assistant shows the price for each quantity.
  3. Start your design. Pick a template, or add your own image. In ChatGPT, you can attach a file or use a public image link. In Claude, you can use a public image link. Adding your own image is not available in Gemini yet.
  4. Change your design. Ask your assistant to change the text, images, layout, or style.
  5. Check the preview. Look at each side of your design. Ask for changes until you like it.
  6. Add to cart. Ask your assistant to add the design to your VistaPrint cart.
  7. Check out on VistaPrint. Open the cart link that your assistant gives you. Review your order and pay on VistaPrint.

You do not have to finish in the chat. When your assistant shows products or templates, you can select View on VistaPrint to open VistaPrint. Then you can finish the rest of your order on VistaPrint.

Troubleshooting

Your AI assistant does not use VistaPrint

First, check the following:

  • Gemini: Type @VistaPrint before your prompt.
  • ChatGPT (once available): Type @VistaPrint before your prompt.
  • Claude (once available): Make sure that the toggle next to VistaPrint is on. To find it, select + in the chat box, and then select Connectors.

If the problem continues, disconnect VistaPrint and connect it again.

  1. Disconnect VistaPrint. See the Disconnect steps for ChatGPT, Claude, or Gemini.
  2. Connect VistaPrint again. See the Connect steps for your assistant.

If the problem continues, see Get help.

If you have more than one VistaPrint account, you can link a different one to your assistant. When you connect VistaPrint again in your normal browser window, the assistant links your previous VistaPrint account automatically. Use a private window to choose another account.

  1. In your AI assistant, disconnect VistaPrint. See the Disconnect steps for ChatGPT, Claude, or Gemini.
  2. Open a private (incognito) window in your web browser.
  3. In that window, open your AI assistant and sign in.
  4. Connect VistaPrint again.
  5. Sign in with the other VistaPrint account.

Limitations

  • You cannot place an order or pay in the chat. Check out on VistaPrint.
  • Some products have no templates.
  • To add your own image with a link, the link must be public.
