The material is a 4.1-ounce, 100% polyester crepe, which is designed to be lightweight, but we completely understand your expectation for a thicker fabric for your employees and we are happy to help you choose a heavier material for a future order. We also appreciate your feedback regarding the embroidery and want to advise that the large piece of backing material is necessary to stabilize the fabric during the stitching process to ensure it looks great on the outside. You may trim the excess backing material carefully to your desired preference, and please note that it also softens with washing over time.
