Disclaimer: I'm a graphic designer and can be quite picky. Just a note for anyone who's looking for a super custom spot gloss application.
I provided an image showing exactly where I wanted the gloss to go. VistaPrint responded saying the gloss can be applied on "up to 25% of the design". (My image definitely covered more than 25% of the design with gloss, more than what's allowed). I said okay, in that case can I see a proof before it goes to print? They made it clear I wasn't going to get exactly what I wanted, so I at least wanted to see a preview.
They said "at this time, we do not have the capability to generate a visual proof that reflects how the embossed gloss will appear on the final product. The finishing process is completed directly by our production team based on the instructions included with your order. Rest assured, your notes have been clearly documented and will be carefully followed. "
So I thought maybe they would follow the instructions I provided, regardless of the fact that I definitely went over 25% gloss coverage. In the end, they omitted the gloss in some of the areas I specified. Not a big deal, but would have been nice to know in advance which parts would get gloss and which would not.

We understand how frustrating it can be not knowing exactly which areas will retain gloss and which may be omitted.
