Custom Shipping Envelopes

I wanted to do a direct mail campaign to prospective clients. The actual piece to be mailed was 11” x 17” folded down to 8.5” x 11” (premium stock) brochure. Which I actually ordered here on VP as well (turned out stunning). I needed a stiff type envelope to make sure the piece could be mailed flat, and the brochure (and nested personalized letter) would make it to the recipient in good shape. The envelope was the perfect size. The concept was to feel like a USPS Priority Mailer flat envelope. My biggest concern was the envelope being “too rigid” to meet postal regs for a regular 1st Class flat, and be bumped up in postage to a “package rate” which is a much higher postage rate. I had no need for concern – the envelope was fine, and the piece total wight (envelope, brochure, letter) was 2.5oz. So, I was able hit the postage rate of about $2.30/ea. (as opposed to $13 for a USPS Priority envelope, or the “package” rate of around $7). Very happy with the outcome and the product. The print quality is fantastic, and the seals work perfectly. Will certainly order again for another round of outreach.
