The light bar is bigger than your standard pen/pencil. However, it comes with the batteries. We handed them out at a recent event and they were a big hit. I had many stop by saying they were told that our booth was where to get one of these light bars. These were a bigger hit than the lightup yoyo's. The light is nice a bright, even under normal lighting. The logo was excellent size and very readable. I would say it looks as if the font size is 11pt or 12pt, so, very legible and easily to see. I really like this light bar swag gift.
