Disclaimer: I'm a graphic designer and can be quite picky. Just a note for anyone who's looking for a super custom spot gloss application. I provided an image showing exactly where I wanted the gloss to go. VistaPrint responded saying the gloss can be applied on "up to 25% of the design". (My image definitely covered more than 25% of the design with gloss, more than what's allowed). I said okay, in that case can I see a proof before it goes to print? They made it clear I wasn't going to get exactly what I wanted, so I at least wanted to see a preview. They said "at this time, we do not have the capability to generate a visual proof that reflects how the embossed gloss will appear on the final product. The finishing process is completed directly by our production team based on the instructions included with your order. Rest assured, your notes have been clearly documented and will be carefully followed. " So I thought maybe they would follow the instructions I provided, regardless of the fact that I definitely went over 25% gloss coverage. In the end, they omitted the gloss in some of the areas I specified. Not a big deal, but would have been nice to know in advance which parts would get gloss and which would not.

I really liked these postcards. I thought they were done really well and were good quality. However, I ordered 100 of them and probably about 25 of them had streaks and weird marks on them. It was super frustrating and I don’t know if I would order again from Vistaprints because of this! Order more than you need in case some come with streaks!!

If you choose embossed gloss postcards, you can highlight key elements of your front design – your logo, business name and message. The result will be visually distinctive postcards with a sophisticated look and feel that will catch the recipient's attention.

You can apply embossed gloss to any text and image element on the front of your postcard, up to 25% of the design. We recommend keeping your design simple and highlighting your logo, key message or a specific image.

Our embossed gloss postcards are printed on 16pt premium matte paper stock. Each point (pt) is equal to 0.001 inches, which means that they are 0.016 inches thick.
