Receiving the sample set of various cardstock textures and thicknesses as well as envelope samples was extremely helpful! I was beyond impressed by the quality of the samples we received, and it made me feel very comfortable ordering my invitations from Vistaprint. Not only that, but I was inspired to do a few things differently for our invitations after seeing so many different samples. For example, I had always intended on using white envelopes, but after seeing the vibrance and the quality of the colored envelopes I decided to use a navy envelope that coordinated perfectly with our invitations. We then placed a very small order of our invitations — almost like our own personal sample — and were extremely impressed by the quality of the paper and the text. Very excited to go ahead and place our big order for invitations with Vistaprint for our upcoming event!

Of course, everyone’s wedding is unique and timelines can vary depending on so many factors, but here’s a timeline you can use as a general rule of thumb:

1 year out: Choose your wedding theme
8-9 months: Mail save the date cards
5-6 months: Create and order wedding invitation suite (including invites and any enclosures, like RSVP cards)
2-3 months: Mail out invites
2 months: Order “day-of” stationery like menus, place cards, programs

You can expect to receive your sample kit around 5-8 business days after you request it.
