Why use foil accents?
Foil helps you draw attention to your design. It adds a thin, flat layer of shimmer that catches the light and makes your branding stand out. Use foil on anything you want to emphasize, like your company name or logo. Or, for a little extra flair, you can use foil to add a stylish finish to decorative elements on the card. This finish is smooth to the touch, unlike raised foil.
Design tips
Stick to bright colors: Foil accents look best with bright colors. Dark colors can cover up the shine and make the foil look dull.
Keep the text large: Make sure any text with foil is 10pt or larger. This keeps the words clear and easy to read against the metallic finish.
Create gold, silver, or bronze effects: You can create classic metallic effects by applying foil over specific colors. Use yellow for gold, light gray for silver and orange for bronze.
How to add foil
You can add foil accents to one of our templates or upload your own design.
Using a template: Select Finishes in the design studio and select which elements you want to add foil to.
Uploading your own design: Upload the specific part you want to be metallic as a separate layer. Then, select for metallic finish to be added to this layer specifically.
