I initially ordered the place cards in a gloss finish accidentally as I didn't realize there was a finish option to select. I realized my mistake when I received them and VistaPrint was very quick to rush order new ones in the matte finish!
That being said, I'm not sure when they even offer them in a gloss finish. It is impossible to write on them in anything but a ball point pen. The matte finish white was not a true white when compared to the rest of my stationary.

Please note that we suggest using a permanent marker if you choose the premium glossy paper stock. These place cards were just we were hoping for, the color and print turned out beautiful! We used clear labels to print the guests names for my son's wedding, so it was easy to finish them off too.
